Hi there! I’m Hanna Olson and I’m a fourth year Environmental Science student with a minor in Oceanography. I’m from Sacramento, California. I joined AΩE in Spring 2016 and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I love AΩE because it’s managed to keep me sane and grounded no matter what is happening. My favorite memory with AΩE is my very first AΩE recruitment event where we built a LEGO Millenium Falcon, because I love legos and I figured it was a sign that this was where I was meant to be.
Vice President Georgia Owens
I'm Georgia Owens and I'm a second year Civil Engineering major! I've lived in San Diego for 18 years and don't plan on leaving anytime soon. I joined Alpha Omega Epsilon my first semester of my first year and it's created this amazing bond between me and other girls in the engineering field that helped me solidify my want to be an engineer. My favorite memory is still in the process of being completed because I get to live with my best friend, her big and my big! Alpha Omega Epsilon has given me an amazing college experience already and I can't wait to continue on.
Treasurer Laura Ruscitti
Hi! My name is Laura Ruscitti and I’m a second year Mechanical Engineering major with an emphasis in Bioengineering and a minor in Computer Science. Before coming to state I had lived in a small town in the Bay Area. I joined Alpha Omega Epsilon my first semester here at SDSU hoping to find a small community, like I had back home, and it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve made so far! Joining AOE has really helped me expand into other leadership rolls here too; without my sisters making me go to ASME meetings my first semester, I wouldn’t be their outreach coordinator now. But, most importantly this sorority is where I met my best friend and current roommate. Meeting her and becoming the great friends we are to this day has definitely been my favorite memory from AOE. Overall, Alpha Omega Epsilon has given me so many great memories and friends and I can’t wait for the good times to continue on!
Secretary Laura Stewart
Hello! My name is Laura Stewart and I’m a fourth year Mechanical Engineering major with a minor in Computer Science, however I will be taking on a super senior status before I can graduate. I grew up in San Diego and upon entering high school joined the Compact for Success program thinking I wanted to be an Architect, but soon realized I belonged in a machine shop. I joined AΩE in Spring 2015 after having a lonely first semester on campus and hearing that other women from my high schools Compact for Success program were finding friendship and being active in the engineering community. Joining AΩE has been one of the best choices I've made in college. In addition to making friends (who are all in similar fields and understand the academic load) and becoming active in the engineering community, I was able to improve my professionalism, communication, and networking skills.
My favorite memory with AΩE was when my class and I were prepring for a candidate test on ideals and objectives and made the song "I'll Make A Woman Out Of You" a parody of "I'll Make A Man Out Of You" from Disney's Mulan changing the words to help us remember the ideals and objectives.
Membership Educator Kelsey Winterrowd
Hello! My name is Kelsey and I'm a fourth year engineering student at San Diego State! I'm originally from Monrovia, CA but have lived in multiple states, including Hawaii. My very first semester as a freshman I made the daunting decision to join a sorority and it is the best decision I've made in college thus far! I am so grateful for the support system and sisterhood I gained through Alpha Omega Epsilon. As this years Membership Educator I am so excited to welcome a new class of sisters and help do for them what AOE has done for me! I look forward to the future year of memories to be made.
